Since our first Special Event gathering 40 years ago,
the Disneyana Fan Club (National Fantasy Fan Club - NFFC)
has been proud of our continuing mission to recognize
the cast members, imagineers, artists, designers, creators
and the many others who contributed toward keeping Walt's dreams alive.
As we look forward toward celebrating together for the next 40 years
and with our next DFC Expo just three months away, we are finalizing our plans for the weekend.
We will be honoring Tim O’Day and Michael Vargo
with the Disneyana Fan Club's Disney Legends Award at our evening dinner event.
For the morning presentations:
You can relive the 90’s with a look back at “The Disney Afternoon”.
We will have Jymn Magon talk about the creation
of some of your favorites from those early years.
Jymn also plans on bringing other members from the creative team.
Jymn Magon began his 30+ years career in the animation business with a start at the newly formed Television Animation Department at Walt Disney Productions in 1984. Jymn was senior created manager at Disney for about a decade, where he help create, develop and write for many shows and projects during the early days of Disney television animation, including “Disney’s adventures of the Gummi Bears”, “DuckTales”, “Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers”, “TaleSpin”, “Darkwing Duck”, “Goof Troop” and he also developed the animated feature, “A Goofy Movie”. Jymn then went on to projects with other studios.
With Disneyland’s 70th Birthday this year, we are excited for a look back at Walt’s original Magic Kingdom with Tim O’Day.
Tim O’Day is a historian, writer, public relations executive, consultant and event producer. As a publicist with Disney and with his PR firm, Tim helped plan, design and execute many events within the parks, outside productions, and special events.
For our afternoon presentations:
Have you ever been on Social Media, saw something that caught your eye and then immediately started planning on how to get this “must-have” item for yourself? You can thank the “influencers”. Fans, just like us, who has a love to share their Disney passion with everybody. You will be able to meet and hear “in-person” some of these folks as we gather a group of them to talk about how they started their collections, their first posting, how they reacted to the sudden “fame” and how influencers are influenced by their followers.
Later, James C. Mulligan will be joining us on stage. Jimmy will talk about the memorable artwork that we see and collect and how he became involved with creating these amazing artwork that features our favorite characters. Jimmy will also share with us about how he started with Disney, what influences his style, his experiences in shifting from set designs to Disney Fine Arts collectibles, and what it takes in creativity, time, effort and energy in designing a piece of art that has a perfect spot on your wall.
Are you wearing a Spirit Jersey item or have a few of them in your closet? To conclude our afternoon presentations, we will welcome the Spirit Jersey team, including the President of Spirit Jersey, to a meet and greet with our attendees.

Disneyana Fan Club's Disney Legend Honoree
Tim O'Day Tim was the on-site publicist representing Walt Disney Imagineering during Walt Disney World’s 20th Birthday and during the final construction phase / Grand Opening of EuroDisney (Disneyland Paris Resort). During the next four decades, Tim continued as a senior management leader or outside consultant for many various projects within Disney. You may remember some of the creative and unique events, like the one-of-kind Disney Auction by eBay in 2002 (where a letter from the marquee in front of Disneyland was auctioned), Disneyland 50th Birthday celebration (including having Julie Andrew’s as the Honorary Disneyland 50th Anniversary Ambassador), the Olympic swimming pool down Main Street U.S.A., Disneyland’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, “Dumbo” attraction vehicle at the Smithsonian’s Natural Museum of American History, the White House’s Pardoned Turkeys at Big Thunder Ranch, the Halloween Tree that appears every year in Frontierland, and the National Medal of Arts to the Sherman Brothers (given by President George W. Bush). Tim also helped develop “D23: The Official Disney Fan Club” and produced many special events including Disney Legends, including Alan Menken, Richard M. Sherman, Dick Van Dyke and even Kermit the Frog (over the years, Tim has worked with almost all the Disney Legends). Tim, with his TO’Day Group PR, continues to produce many events that we have enjoyed in the past and will continue to enjoy in the future. |
