A long time ago, the World Chapter held a retirement party/roast for the great Disney Artist, Ralph Kent.
Well, the World Chapter is planning one for another great Disney Artist who recently retired.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, He is of Scottish descent and still has strong ties to Scotland. He grew up poor during the 1950s. His mother was a single mother raising 8 children including him. He wrote his first letter to Walt Disney at age 10. His desire to be a Disney artist intensified as he grew up, but had to be put on hold while he spent four years in the U.S. Navy. After his tour of duty, he returned to Massachusetts and became employed at a local savings bank, He still yearned to be with Disney and spent much of his spare time drawing and painting the Disney characters. After much determination and perseverance, He left the bank and moved to Florida to pursue his life long dream, which was realized in 1980.
His mother nicknamed Don, "Ducky" because she had a love for the Donald Duck comic books. Now, after nearly 37 years with Disney’s Yellow Shoes, The acclaimed Senior Character artist, Don “Ducky" Williams who has drawn literally thousands of Disney stars for books, lithographs, brochures, magazine ads, and television has retired and the World Chapter is throwing him a Retirement Party/Roast on:
