At our May 2022 event, we are proud to announce a fantastic day of presentations that includes DFC and Disney Legend Bob Gurr, creator of all moving vehicles in Disneyland 1955 and Imagineer extraordinaire. Joining Bob on a panel about Disneyland attractions and in an additional panel will be Garner Holt, DFC Legend and world leader in animatronic technology. Garner is one of the primary providers of animatronics to Disney and Universal theme parks around the world.
Our third presenter for the day’s program will be fan favorite artist, puppeteer and former Imagineer Terri Hardin. Terri will be sharing her tales of her work on Disneyland Paris in honor of the park's 30th anniversary.
Check- in will be at 9:30 with presentations beginning at 10:00 a.m. and concluding at 1:30 p.m. A silent auction will be held throughout the day concluding at 1:30 p.m. Then, a break from 1:30 to 6:00 p.m. for the DFC team to set up the room for our exciting DFC Legends Dinner where we will hear about our honorees of the Disneyana Fan Club's Legend Award, Terri Hardin, Kim Irvine and Leota Toombs.

Doors into the DFC Legends Dinner will open at 6:00p.m. where attendees can begin browsing and bidding on our silent auction items for the evening’s auction. We will be honoring three outstanding women who have excelled and delighted us with their creations throughout the last sixty years.
Being honored posthumously will be Leota Toombs, American artist and Imagineer at WED who worked on several original attractions at Disneyland Park. Best known for serving as the model for the character in the Haunted Mansion attraction, she will be represented by her daughter and extraordinary Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering and Art Director for Disneyland, Kim Irvine, our second Legend award recipient. Ms. Irvine is a prominent Imagineer, who for the last four decades has led a team in Anaheim responsible for the look, tone and feel of Disney’s original park. Our third honoree accepting the DFC's Disney Legend Award is an American puppeteer, artist, and former Disney Imagineer Terri Hardin. Her work on Star Tours, Splash Mountain in three parks, Captain EO, Muppet Vision 3D, and the Dragon’s Lair in Disneyland Paris and so many more projects have earned her the stellar reputation she has with Disney Fans throughout the world. Iconic Imagineer and Disney Legend Bob Gurr is the only remaining original imagineer among those assigned by Walt Disney to design Disneyland in 1954. Bob is currently featured on “The Imagineering Story” for Disney +, the new ultimate streaming destination for all things Disney. His most famous work was for Walt Disney’s Disneyland Park, and its subsequent sister parks. Bob is said to have designed most, if not all, of the ride vehicles of the Disneyland attractions, including the Autopia cars, Haunted Mansion doom buggies, the Disneyland Monorail, the Submarine Voyage, and the Matterhorn Bobsleds and many more. Bob also developed the first realistic humanoid animatronic Mr. Lincoln for Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. Garner Holt and his company, Garner Holt Production, have been involved in designing and imagineering some of the most intricate, extremely complicated and amazing audioanimatronics that can be found in Disney Parks around the world and other theme parks. It's always fascinating and entertaining to hear Garner speak about the details and engineering that goes into the magic. And more to be announced!!! |
